The Haud is a curated British marketplace for traditional and endangered handmade crafts. Every piece is genuinely made by hand in Britain by a maker you can meet on their own page, and product pages declare each craft's status against the Heritage Crafts Red List.

Where are the products made?

Every product on The Haud is handmade in Britain by an accepted maker. Imports, mass production, and reseller listings are not permitted.

How do you choose the makers?

Makers apply through /apply and are reviewed individually. The work has to be genuinely handmade, rooted in British craft tradition, and good enough to earn its place. The marketplace is curated, not self-serve.

Why does The Haud focus on endangered crafts?

Roughly 165 crafts in Britain are recorded as endangered or critically endangered on the Heritage Crafts Red List. When the last practitioner stops, the skill is gone. Buying from the makers who keep those traditions alive directly funds their continued practice.

Delivery is calculated per piece and shown before you pay, and every parcel is tracked. We ship across England, Scotland and Wales, and to the United States with import duties included at checkout. We are not able to ship to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar or British Forces (BFPO) addresses just yet. Made-to-order pieces ship within the lead time stated on each product page. On UK orders you have at least 14 days from delivery to change your mind, and where a maker offers longer it is shown on the piece; US orders cannot be returned for a change of mind. Anything faulty is always covered. Personalised and commissioned pieces are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
