Joshua’s quiet evening scene captures the stillness of Norbiton by Night. With subtle tones and a gentle touch, the painting reflects the quiet glow of streetlights and the soft shadow of buildings, offering a calm and contemplative view of this familiar suburban corner.
Norbiton, just outside Kingston upon Thames, often goes unnoticed, but at night, it reveals a different kind of beauty. Empty streets, quiet windows, and the soft hum of late evening give this place a peaceful, understated character.
Original, one-of-a-kind work.

About the maker: Joshua Lea
Joshua approaches painting with a romantic sensibility, depicting British landscapes and river scenes in oil paint. Using sensitively applied colour he builds up rich layers of brush marks to portray these timeless scenes, referencing back to 18th century painters. Each piece draws on the enduring landscapes of Britain: the Lake District, the banks of the Thames, the Solway coast.
