About the maker: Joshua Lea
Joshua approaches painting with a romantic sensibility, depicting British landscapes and river scenes in oil paint. Using sensitively applied colour he builds up rich layers of brush marks to portray these timeless scenes, referencing back to 18th century painters. Each piece draws on the enduring landscapes of Britain: the Lake District, the banks of the Thames, the Solway coast.
