The Swans' Return: Embroidery on Canvas
The Swans' Return: Embroidery on Canvas
This embroidery is loosely inspired by Walter Crane’s Swan, Rush and Iris (1875) painted wallpaper design, currently housed in the V&A.
Molly’s interpretation plays with sunny coral and banana tones, which contrast the natural linen ground fabric.
Signed with the artist’s embroidered signature on the reverse, this piece is framed and easily hung.
Original, one-of-a-kind work.
Embroidery on canvas.
Circa 21cm x 21cm

Molly Lester
About the maker
Molly’s practice is centralised around the process of myth making and the interpretation and interrelation of history through the objects we leave behind. Through curating archives or assemblages of quilts, ceramic vessels and organic matter Molly weaves fictional histories which playfully blur the lines between the real and the imagined.
