Molly was inspired by the William Blake's Oberon, Titania and Puck with Fairies Dancing (c 1786). This hand stitched wall hanging renders the dancing figure of Titania in needleturn applique, known for its hidden stitches.
Most fabrics are recycled or offcuts from other projects, to ensure a sustainability conscious approach. Molly used a mix of natural dyes, including black beans, turmeric and madder, and synthetic dyes to achieve dynamic variation in colour.
This hanging has small loops of cord, stitched on the rear, for easy hanging.
