Tile Sampler: Medieval Inlaid Floor Tile Panel
by Tom ChamberlainPrice on applicationHandmade to order, typically ready in 70 days.
A sampler panel Tom put together from the tiles he made after he started in the summer of 2024, while he was working out stamps, moulds, clays, inlays and glazes. As the pile of fired tiles grew he set the good ones out as a single panel, named after the embroidery samplers Victorian girls made to show their skill. The panel brings together stars, fleur-de-lys, pike, beasts in roundels and foliage designs, with small flowered tiles between them and a four-tile design at the centre. Tom wrote about it for the TACS magazine Glazed Expression, in issue 96 (October 2025). Tom can make a mixed panel like this to order, or a larger collection of tiles to form a pavement for an indoor or covered outdoor area.
