Black clay vessel with flared rim and two curved handles, glossy dark glaze on upper half fading to matte lower body.

Roman Glass Vessel in Black Clay

by Annie Rose EdwardsPrice on application

Handmade to order, typically ready in 60 days.

A twin-handled vessel with a flared neck and two handles looped from the neck to the shoulder, made while Annie was thinking about Roman glass. It was her first piece in black clay. A glossy dark glaze covers the upper half and breaks away over the faceted lower body, so the raw dark clay shows through and the whole thing reads as something excavated rather than made. In her own words it could be for flowers, or for wine.
