Inlaid bowl

A shallow bowl with the decoration worked into the clay rather than onto it. The lines are carved and then filled with coloured slip, the same inlay method Bethan uses on her tiles, run round the inside of a thrown form. The drawing reads as circles and arcs turning about a centre, which is where her research keeps going: the spiral and knotwork carvings on Neolithic and early medieval stones in Wales and Ireland.
