A close-fitting collar, about 3.5 cm wide, that follows the neckline and works as a single defining accent. The surface is dense with pearl-tone beads cut into irregular, angular shapes, closer to thorns than to round pearls, so the piece keeps the light-catching quality of pearl while reading sharper and more graphic.
Ksenia sets each bead by hand onto black cotton cords using a traditional pearl setting technique, then edges the collar with a cord of antique metallic thread that she makes herself. The back is finished in leather for comfort and structure against the skin.
It fastens with an adjustable lobster clasp. Only one collar has been made with this bead, so the piece is one of a kind.
