An oversized unisex denim jacket, size XL with dropped shoulders for relaxed wear, carrying an original dragon design across the back. The artwork was created for this jacket alone and the piece is a one-off; no duplicate exists.
Ksenia embroiders the base motif by machine, then builds it up by hand with hand-cut velvet appliqué, mixed glass beads, sequins and Mukaish metal strips. Vintage beads bring colours, shapes and finishes no longer in production, so the surface holds a play of texture and light that cannot be repeated.
The front has spacious patch pockets and fastens with metal buttons. It works layered or on its own.

Ksenia Semirova makes hummingbirds from silk and sequins, and wedding veils embroidered straight onto the finished cloth. She works with a tambour hook in Hove, and she will either make you a piece or teach you to make your own.
