Everything needed to make a stone age arrowhead from a flake of flint: five flint flakes, a small hammerstone, a pressure flaker and a thick leather pad to protect your hand, with written instructions. The pressure flaker comes in antler, as a stone age knapper would have used, or in bronze, the Bronze Age version.
The flakes are struck by James Francis in Kent. The kit teaches pressure flaking, where a pointed tool is pressed against the edge of the flake to lift off small, controlled chips until the arrowhead takes shape. It is the same technique used to make arrowheads in Neolithic Britain.
Flint flakes have sharp edges, so wear eye protection and work over a cloth or tray to catch the chips. Each kit is made to order and sent within ten working days.
