Soft launching. More makers all summer.Soft launching with our founding makers. More arriving through the summer.
"Refigurement 1" looks at first like a still life and then will not settle into one. Planes overlap. Brushwork layers over brushwork. The objects you expect to find, a vase, a fruit, the edge of a table, are there in suggestion and then gone again as the eye moves.
The painting works on a fractured logic that owes something to cubism without taking the formal route there. Jessica builds the image as a sequence of overlapping zones rather than a single coherent scene, and the richness of the tones, ochres pulled through warmer reds, greys catching at the edges, gives the surface a depth that resists a single reading.
It is a small painting, approximately 30 by 30 centimetres, oil on board. Sold unframed so the next decision belongs to whoever takes it home. A piece for a wall where the eye returns and finds something different each time.

Jessica paints abstract oils about colour, mood, and the bursts of energy that happen between shapes. Each piece is one of a kind, signed, and sold unframed.
