A made-to-order blouse embroidered by hand with a year that matters to the wearer. The original design belongs to Ksenia's artistic project 1984 and carries that year; any other can take its place, a birth year, an anniversary, a graduation year, the year a business began. From a distance the number reads as a graphic detail; up close the beads and sequins show the handwork behind it.
Ksenia cuts and sews each blouse from scratch in a fluid, silk-touch woven fabric (not jersey, and not an embellished ready-made blank), then embroiders the numerals using the Lunéville technique, working beads and sequins into the design. Because every blouse is made individually, small variations are part of the piece.
The embroidery comes in blue or red shades, and the blouse colour can be discussed individually. Sizing follows regular EU sizes, and each blouse takes around five working days to make.

Ksenia Semirova makes hummingbirds from silk and sequins, and wedding veils embroidered straight onto the finished cloth. She works with a tambour hook in Hove, and she will either make you a piece or teach you to make your own.
