A green agate slice, banded and translucent, is leaded into a ground of pale yellow textured glass, with a dark magenta border. Held up to the light the stone turns from opaque to lit.
One of Mary's found-material panels, built so the agate does the work and the glass around it stays quiet. Made using traditional techniques, it has been leaded, cemented and polished by hand in Northwood. The panel has been framed in recycled wood that has been painted black to make the colours of the glass pop.
Away from the light it reads as a dark oval; with the sun behind it the banding comes through.
It can be hung from the hooks attached to the back of the frame or stood in a window using the 'little feet' made to match the frame.
190mm x 140mm x 8mm (280mm x 225mm x 25mm framed)
